Evening all.

My wife seems to have had a run in with a wing mirror, she pleads ignorance of course but has a black line running down the side of her white car now. I attacked it with some farecla scratch remover (water didn't touch the sides and it was all I had hanging around) and it does come off leaving no damage, but it requires some serious elbow grease. Are there any products that will make this easier, clay bar perhaps?

Must’ve been a very low wing mirror. I would try a clay bar, it won’t do any harm provided you keep it lubed. Remember to clean and seal the paint afterwards. If that fails find someone whose handy with a DA

Compound and then wax. I have had some success with Cif (Jif) in the past.

T-cut, or you might try toothpaste first as it's less abrasive.

Give it a rub with some petrol

Used to clean all the detritus and pick up on the race cars with petrol, works a treat
