Polishing and wrapping 997 rear lights
Discussion
My 997 rear lights suffer from water leaks, which seems to be a common problem. Water clearly gets in through the join in the lens between the centre clear and surrounding red section.
I’ve taken the lamps out, opened them up and dried them out. I’ve also bought some clear wrap / ppf to cover the lenses which seems to be a common approach to keeping water out.
I’d like to try polishing the plastic lenses before I put the film on. I have some old T-cut (must be 20+ years), Brasso, aluminium polish and toothpaste - any recommendations on where to start? (Apart from a small corner to test it...!).
Also for applying the wrap, I assume just warm it gently and stretch it over? It’s not a huge area so hoping I can avoid bubbles without too much issue.
Thanks
