Advice please,I,ve just had the body shell painted and now the restoration starts.
I,m guessing 2 to 3 years of piecing the car back together.I was thinking of cling film over the wings and other panels and then perhaps foam underlay on top as protection.Would there be any down sides to the cling film perhaps been on the car for 2 years or more.
Thanks in anticipation

You may find it starts to "eat" into fresh paint.

I do restoration for a living and only us wing matts when leaning into the engine bay, but always remove them when not in use. If you cover the fresh paint for too long it’ll sweat and mark up due to trapped solvent.

make 2x2 timber frames the sizes of the sides and brace the front and back so it makes a box round the car and staple sheets over the top making sure they don’t touch the paint
