I picked up a 2018 VW Golf GTD at the end of last year in immaculate condition (until last week).

Unfortunately, i've managed to dent the roof liner, I think by loading my bike into the boot.

Its extremely irritating and noticeable. Is there anything I can do to remove this without causing anymore damage / having to re-line the whole roof?

Thanks

Sometimes a little heat can encourage it to go back to its original shape.

Certainly worth trying a hairdryer to start with.

I removed a similar dent in a canvas print by wetting it slightly and then gently rubbing it. When it dried, the dent had gone. Otherwise, maybe try a steamer on it.

You've probably damaged the fibreglass backing a bit of
Heat and water may make it less visible

Its a tiny dent in the roof lining, why on earth would you replace the whole lot to fix it? Its a golf not a Rolls Royce, you'll probably do it again next time you put a bike in the boot.

Thank you for all your suggestions - I will give them a bash this weekend.

Much appreciated!

I stated that I was looking for a fix "without causing anymore damage / having to re-line the whole roof?"
