Evening all.
I know there are lots of tyre dressings on the market, but does any body know what the dealers use.
Their car tyres always seam to look better for some reason.
Looks like they use dressing that’s thinner & more oily.
Regards.
Dave.

Most dealers seem to use Autosmart products, so it's probably their "Highstyle".

Looks good for the photos but soon wears off.

Conversely, Meguiars instant tyre shine (the purple gel) does something very similar but lasts a lot longer

Yeah thats good stuff. And depending on how much you use you can either get a nice matt black or really high gloss

Couldn't edit but here's the cheapest I've ever seen it... https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/p/meguiars-enduran...

This.

But don't just paint it on and forget it, because it will spray off onto your paintwork. Use a damp cloth to wipe off the excess.

I have been using a different selection of tyre dressing on my cars over the years. For a good tyre dressing to stick to the walls of a tyre you need to prep the tyre first.

I use Bilt Hamber Surface HD (APC) to clean down the muck off the tyre with a stiff brush, hose it down, allow to dry until bone dry and then add the dressing. I stopped using the Megs stuff, as it would sling all over the bodywork. Autofinesse Satin is decent stuff, as you can layer it on depending on the look.

One thing I do notice is that some dressings seem to accelerate the cracking on the walls or maybe the prep is breaking down the rubber..

Love Autosmart High Style.

Cover 500miles/week and most do not last but Autosmart works for me BUT can be tyre make/compound sensitive.

Clean tyres thoroughly. Apply Highstyle with 2" brush, Use an air-dryer to spread and impregnate. Another coat with 2" brush and leave overnight to set.

Also have some nice tyre gels but they do not seem to last as long. Look great for a while as I like the shine/gloss look.

Ironically my winter tyres (Nokian) are a nightmare and so have reverted to shoe polish. Only downside is that "no gloss look".

That sounds like just the ticket. Mind you back in the 80s you generally needed something that would nicely fill the cracks.
