Wanting to have my silver wheels refurbed to the standard silver as the paint is flaking in places.

I know there's many many threads on the differences and pro's/cons between powdercoating and painting but i'm still very torn between the two.

Main concern is the silver finish, do powdercoated silver wheels look dull? or is the difference barely noticeable and powdercoated wheels can still have a decent enough shine to them?

thanks

You can get different gloss levels with powdercoating.

If you want a bit more bling, you can go ask for a high gloss with flake powdercoat.

Most of the wheel refurbishment places I've used use powder coat as the base, in black, white or silver. Then they spray the colour on top. I wouldn't be too concerned about the finish unless your paying £20 a wheel or something daft like I have in the past, in which case you get whatever the powdercoat finish is, typically an off the shelf RAL which could be gloss, satin or matte depending on what you ask for.

In brief, speak to the people doing the job and ask about their process and finish options.
