Advice on removing dull spots from paint please
Discussion
Hi all
Last weekend I spent a long day getting the paint on my 911 in reasonable shape. My process was:
1. Wash
2. Decontaminate
3. Clay
4. Cut and refine (Megs DA microfibre system)
5. Wipe down
6. Megs Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax

Overall I’m very happy with the results, all except the bonnet. I hit it twice with the cutting stage but still I have these dull spots that look a bit like etching. I can’t feel them with my finger nail but they are definitely there when you look across the bonnet. If anything I think bringing the gloss level up on the surrounding paint makes them look worse.
Should I keep hitting them with the Megs microfibre system on the DA or do I need something with more cut? Slightly concerned about whether I can go through the lacquer!
Some pics below - you can just see the spots on the edge of the light reflections.

Advice appreciated please!
ETA: been advised by a pro that it’s potentially tree sap etching and to hit it with the DA again. All comments and thoughts still welcome though!

Thanks guys. I spent another couple of hours on the bonnet with the DA this evening and actually managed to get rid of the etching completely. So the solution for this one was perseverance and elbow grease. Glad I didn’t have to consider wet sanding!
Here is the finish now - more than happy with it.
