Patching burn marks in carpet
Discussion
I've got a few burn marks in the carpet of my car (from previous owner!)
They are between the drivers seat and the sill so reasonably obscure but still annoying.
A few options I have thought of
1 - some sort of smart repair but no idea if that's a thing
2 - cut out the burn and cut a bit of carpet from under the seat and try and patch it in. Think this is harder than it sounds to make it look good.
3 - buy a used carpet and replace the whole thing - I know how hard this can be getting all the trim and everything off and likely to be the most expensive option
4 - buy a used carpet and just cut a section. There is already a join line just to the right in the picture so maybe I could get away with another join. But if I mess it up I ruin the old and the new carpet!!
5 - cut some fibre from somewhere inconspicuous and try and glue it into the hole and trim to length. Probably end up a bit scruffy and not sure on longevity.
Anyone done similar with good results?
Any advice?
Thanks

I would look into the smart repair option - I’ve seen some very impressive repairs done in the past using flock.
An alternative would be to dye/paint the burnt area so that it is black and doesn’t look so obvious. Maybe a black sharpie would work? Wouldn’t be perfect by any means but would certainly be less visible.

Thanks T. Had a quick google yesterday and couldn't find anyone obvious locally. Will keep hunting. An alternative would be to dye/paint the burnt area so that it is black and doesn’t look so obvious. Also enquiring about a pre used carpet off eBay, just waiting on a price.
Use a razor blade to shave a few fibres from a good area of the same carpet. Put some super glue in the burn hole then stuff fibres into hole.

Smart repair might be worth looking into. Not sure who applies it in the UK though.
