Polishing quote
Discussion
Car is due some long awaited tlc so been to a local detailed to have a word on what needs doing. They were saying the package that includes a 2 stage polish, wheels off, interior, engine bay etc. Which came to around 600 quid would probably be best with maybe a ceramic coat that adds another £250+ on top.
The thing is I only want the paintwork doing I’m not bothered about the rest or the ceramic coat.
They pretty much said they only do the packages and won’t just do the polish.
Is this the norm ?

Why don't you buy a DA polisher and have a go yourself, its very satisfying.
It's very difficult to damage paint with a DA and some mild compound to be honest unless your being silly, but you could get hold of a second hand panel to practice on.

It maybe normal for some.
I'd rather listen to what a potential client wants to achieve and provide a quote accordingly.
Probably not worth their time then.

I guess not every place will take on anything.
If i were detailing I'd only be wanting to use ceramic coatings or at the very least a Cancoat type product to protect my work and give value for money to the consumer.
I would estimate 20 to 25 hours on a large typically buggered estate car so the prices seem within the accepted range.
Go to PVD website is you're not happy and find another detailer and get some quotes
