mounting of L plates any better ways

Sons girlfriend came the other day in her new car, my son sitting in with her as she is still a learner.
Anyway the car looked dirty and needed a wash and polish. I offered to do this, when washing it I found the magnetic L plate had scratched the bonnet quite a bit.
Looking at the car its a Peugeot 107.there seems to be a lack of good places to mount the L plates.
I suppose could use a one on stickers in the back window ( would this be a good idea?)
Any better ways of mounting L plates that does not damage the paint work?
In my day we tied them to the chrome bumpers no damage caused.

My daughter's 107 has a stick on L plate on the rear glass hatch and a a magnetic on on the bonnet.
The rear one is fine but I couldn't find a better way of putting one on the front.

How about getting a square piece of paint protection film fitted where the L plate goes?

When she’s finished with the L plates, you can just warm it up with a hairdryer and peel it off.

That is a good idea. I've also seen damage with the magnetic plates - even taping plates on would be better.

I used a hard plastic one for a bike on our Cactus for the front, drilled two holes each side then looped a cable tie around and into the grill and round, 2 mins to fit, 2 secs to remove with side cuters
