As above, I bought a nice little Honda Jazz for my niece in red. The bonnet and above the window line show a fair amount of paint fade (or is it oxidisation or is it the same thing?).

I used a rotary polisher and Meguiars Premium Cutting compound but although it brought the normal paint up beautifully the faded red hasn't changed much at all.

Am I doing something wrong, do I need a more aggressive pad or compound or has it simply faded too far? in the YT videos it seems very easy to restore but on this Honda it seems much harder.

Ok, thanks, won't waste any more energy on it then. Will just add a bit of red polish and that will have to do. Still looks bloody nice for a first car compared to my crumbling old Mk1 Escort.
