Discussion
Our Mini pool car is in for some paintwork, due to the dealership damaging it when it was with them last.
There is a crack in the paint on the rear bumper, where someone has flexed the bumper (that wasn't done by the dealership) and I have asked them to quote for doing it at the same time. I am fairly sure that the crack is only in the paint and I would expect to pay a smart repairer £200 or so to sort it
They have quoted as follows:
Details :-
Remove & Refit
Rear Bumper
Repair
Rear Bumper
Prepare And Paint
Rear Bumper
Labour Value £275.00
Paint and Materials £120.00
Specialist/Other Charges £60.00
[
Post Diagnostic Check 20.00
Pre Diagnostic Check 20.00
Covid-19 Clean ___ 10.00******
Sub-Total £455.00
VAT __£_9_1_.0_0_
Estimate Total _£_5_4_6_.0_0_
I think they are being generally ambitious given that they have the car already, but what are the other charges all about?

Car care kit is the equivalent of topping up washer fluid. There is a crack in the paint on the rear bumper, where someone has flexed the bumper (that wasn't done by the dealership) and I have asked them to quote for doing it at the same time. Diagnostic checks to see if all ok before they touch it and then after they have finished. Only relevant for the bumper if you have parking sensors and arguably the last check should be on their account anyway.
COVID clean. If they already have the car you shouldn’t have to pay it twice.
Sounds expensive to me.
