What next please?
Discussion
I had a little scuff on my cars wing mirror, and thought I'd try to repair it myself rather than my first instinct to take it straight to a body shop. I can do that if my efforts fail, but I just wanted to try.
To date, I've cleaned it up to the metal with 2000 grit, put on some primmer, rubbed that down with 3000 grit, and painted the parts effected with a brush. I'm sure I have everything I need, but don't know in what order to use them?
I've the clear varnish, some of the Turtle wax rubbing compound, and several quality polishes from Auto glym a initial polish then a setting polish.
So after the paint, what do I do now please?
My first post, so thanks all. Richard.

You aren't going to get the same result as spraying - even with rattle cans.
But if you want to go ahead apply the lacquer & allow it to thoroughly harden in accordance with its instructions.
You can then either leave it alone as is or sand the lacquer smooth with the 2000 grit & then polish it shiny again with the rubbing compound.
Then decide whether you're happy with the result.
If not then try small local body shops or a mobile SMART repairer & see what they would charge.

Thanks, I fully understand what you're saying, thanks. But I just wanted to try it out to be honest, it's not that I can really spoil it much. I promised myself when I brought the little car that I'd try most repairs and service myself, I'm not in any way a mechanic, and the family car I don't touch, but my weekend car I'll give it a go. I don't know what it cost to paint a car mirror, but I can afford it if need to.
Thanks or your kind help.

No reason why you couldn't have a go with aerosols - but get a price for a professional job before spending any more money.
If you wanted to continue then finish what you've started & if you're not happy I'd suggest you sand it all off then aerosol prime, colour coat & lacquer coat following the instructions on the respective tins.
Although you might want to wait until the weather's a lot warmer with less chance of rain before spraying it!
