Can anyone recommend a "small repair" spray gun please that won't break the bank.

I have a bike frame & mudguards to spray.

Thats a coincidence. I was searching on my phone this morning and found this on Frost Restoration for £49.99 ....... and thought that looks all right.
Then thought that a post on PH might come up with an alternative.

Unless I'm very much mistaken its the same as you have suggested, but the eBay one is so much cheaper. Many many thanks Steveo.

I've got one too & it's fine.

Get yourself a mini regulator to go on the bottom of the gun so you can set the air pressure at the gun rather than at the compressor as there will be a pressure drop in the hose. I've got one on each of my guns.

This sort of thing: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223938058981?hash=item3423bf9ae...

Use full bore hose, rather than a curly wurly plastic one as the small bore will reduce the volume of air arriving at the gun.

Might have to get one of these for spraying up old (garden and garage) stuff to make it a bit more presentable. Where do you guys get your paint from and what sort do you use?

I have this set up:-

Feed from compressor right side.
Water trap
Additional reg. Set to 40psi for this photo. At the moment it has 6mm nylon outlet as I was pressure testing a fuel tank @ 2psi
but will use the roll of black air line for spraying.

Just one question, these guns come with either a 0.8mm or 1.0 nozzle. 1.0 as first suggested ???

Thanks for the help.

Solid colour or metallic/pearl/etc using clear over base?

If you're painting the frame black consider having it powder coated.

What's the bike? - I see plunger rear suspension.

Motor factors.
Professionally so I'm using either 2k topcoat or, for clear over base, waterbase & solvent base basecoats with a 2k clear.

Thanks, what's 'best' for garden machinery? ie just to give it a fresh coat of colour, not factory finish with mirror reflections.

2k is generally more robust - but you do need to follow the HSE advice & use proper protective equipment.
Bit of reading for you: www.hse.gov.uk/mvr/bodyshop/isocyanates.htm

For solid colours as a topcoat - shiny from the gun & needs no clearcoat - you would need the paint, hardener & suitable thinners.
Price wise you'll need to look online to see what sort of money you'll be paying out.

But if it's just to tidy stuff up then you could consider aerosols - Halfords etc.

Last June it looked like this. A 1953 D1 Bantam. Engine now re-built. Wheels, s/s rims and spokes.
The paint has been mixed to match the inside of the headlight as it has never seen the light of day. BSA Mist Green.

Guns on order. Arrives Tuesday.

Last month (mudguards are shot blast) Hubs are the Mist Green.
