Hi folks. Just had my car ceramic coated. Marvellous result but living in Sidmouth the seagulls have an amazing ability to find a polished car to open their bowels on spectacularly. So, if they do which they will, what’s the best way to wash it. I don’t want to ruin the ceramic coating but would like to keep it looking good. Thanks in advance!

You should have received after care instructions and often a cleaning pack.

Most suggest a particular shampoo and hand washing only.

I have 303 Graphene coating on my car and use Krystal Kleen Detail Blizzard Advanced Snow Foam and Autoglym Pure shampoo. Both are pH neutral and so are safe for wax and ceramic coatings.

You could also ask the detailer who coated your car what they recommend.

Carpro Reset is the shampoo often recommended on the detailing forums. It's what I use on mine, which only has a 'lite' ceramic coating.

Best thing is to ensure you catch it soon enough - don't let the poop dry.
Just water and a microfibre cloth will see it off. Be gentle - don't rub it in.

I have a plant watering squirty bottle thing with water and car shampoo in, very dilute.

Easily removes bird poo, just the pressure from hand squirting is enough to remove it and then a microfibre to wipe down. Or just use the squirty bottle before washing the complete car.

Thanks all, and forgot to add earlier, the Detailer did give me instructions but I’ve swum around my bowl since then and she’s on holiday now. Thanks for the advice chaps! Pic for effect!

Nice to see one of Nicola’s jobs being featured.

Massive recommendation from me, she looked after my previous Vantage too.

She even made time later on to go through the washing process too.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Top lady too, proper pride in her work.
