Protecting new alloys (BBS LM)

I've got some new wheels coming (BBS LM's) and I had planned to give them a ceramic coat before I have the tyres fitted and they go on the car .

I'd pretty much settled on Gtechniq C5 wheel armour as it gets favourable reviews, but I notice in the small print it says 'fit for use on chrome but not on polished metals'

The LM's have a polished lip so according to the instructions it's not suitable.

Anyone experience of this, is their a better product to use?
