Ceramic coating, worse than before?
Discussion
After Opinións, had ceramic coating applied after a stage one detail to remove swirl marks.
Swirls and scratches were not removed at all and was advised that more stages were needed and maybe wet sanding.
Now although the finish is nice a shiny and water beads off nice when washing I seem to be putting new scratches in with my thumbnail, I had some tree sap which I used my nail very very gently but this so called hard ceramic coating just marks up easy and now I cannot polish out these new marks.
Have I been done with inferior product or have I been stupid in picking of sap with my fingers?

Ceramic is a very thin hydrophobic coating designed to help protect the paint from normal things like raod grime and sap. It's not designed to stop scretches or people scratching at it with a finger nail. If they told you that it would add some form of crazy armour to the car and things wouldn't scratch then it was mis-sold.
