In Kent we have a hose pipe ban. Normal clean car weekly. Snow foaming and two bucket method.

Thinking of ways I can clean car and not scratch. Spent quite a bit of time machine polishing.

I was thinking about mixing snow foam in a water can and applying as a pre wash and then rinsing with another water can. I can then two but method and rinse with water can. Has anyone applied snow foam via a water can? Or any other ideas.

Can you apply it using one of those pump pressure sprayers they use for weedkiller etc ?

Not a bad idea. I think I’ll give that a try. Snow foam maybe to thick.

A lot of people use these instead of a full lance setup:

Mix up some no rinse product in a sprayer, apply to panel to saturate and then use a damp microfibre cloth too, remove in straight motions no rubbing.
On a dusty car I can’t see it marring the paint personally.
Most detailing sprays are suitable for this though in fairness if the paint only has a light layer of dust.
Won’t be long before we are back to normal.

I have a Worx Hydroshot Brushless cordless pressure washer and bought 2 x 25litre water drums from a seller in Medway. Fill the drums, put the water hose in and you're good to go. Pressure is about the same as the cheapest jetwash on the market, so don't expect too much. It took 20 litres to clean the Bussat.

But it's 10x better than a watering can or a pump sprayer (and please avoid the yellow Streetwise Car Pressure Washer - it's so bad I'd be embarrassed to give it away for free)

Both my jetwashers run off a hose in a bucket.

Fill a couple of buckets from the tap and Bob's your uncle.

Didn’t know Karcher jet wash can work off a bucket. Just reviewed and it can. I have a 20 litre tub so perfect and can wash car as normal. 😀

My fairly big industrial Karcher does but may be model dependant.

Just been online to look at the Karcher maual for the K4, looks like you can but it's been updated since I got mine. I'll check the manual this evening! I also spotted that I shouldnt use an 'Aquastop' connector, which I have been using for the last 4 years!

That's just because it slows the flow rate even when 'open' and they want maximum flow rate to stop the motor over working.

Warm water and autoglym car shampoo. Squeeze sponge over car to let solution flood over the roof and then panels to loosen dirt. Rinse off with clean water. That’s all I ever have done. Perhaps not applicable now (in Kent, maybe, it’s rain again here in North Wales), but I usually wait till the car has been wet with rain, then dash out between the showers, and let the rain rinse it off.

Two new waterless washes hit the market this weekend alone...

Infinity Wax's Zero Water and Bouncer's RCD

Both offer the waterless wash and rinseless wash options.

Tried both and prefer Bouncer's - it's a more versatile product.

Where abouts in Kent are you? It's only south east water that currently have a ban, parts of Kent are supplied by Southern or affinity water and they don't have bans so maybe you know somebody in those areas that would let you wash your car?
