Hi,
My Defender 90 has a bit of surface rust on rear - anyone got the best way to deal with this?
Thanks

Ours had similar surface rust so got the garage to rub it all down and repaint when the annual service and MOT was done.

There are some quite good products such as rustbuster that will help keep it at bay until you get it shotblasted and do the full resto!

Grind back to clean metal and use a paint from someone like rustoleum.

Grind and sand back to good metal, Bilt hamber hydrate 80 rust converter, then your choice of paint depending on what you what to spend. You can use their rust remover gel if that helps in the initial prep stage.
They also do a 2 part epoxy that’s good enough for submerged metal if you fancy the effort.
