I have bought a Bissel spot clean and was wandering how do you guys pre wash the seat before getting the nozzle on it?

Thanks

On a one off clean i just use the Bissell fluid but you can use an upholstery cleaner or apc first, scrub and then suck up the excess water, it's up to you really.
Depends how many cars your doing to the cost of the fluid.

I’ve been quite tempted by the Bissel, but worried it might be a bit crap. Please can you update how successful it is.

Only issue I find is that the hose length is a bit short for certain areas so can be awkward.

Great to get the feedback, can I just double check this is what we're talking about : https://www.bisselldirect.co.uk/products/spotclean...

And to add something to the thread, I've used this historically to clean my wife's seats which have had some horrific stains over the years, I guess it could be used as a pre-treatment. I spray it on the fabric seats, leave it to soak for 5 mins then wash with a microfibre cloth and water. https://www.blackdiamondproducts.co.uk/prods/17350...

I have an old old version of the spot cleaner linked above - it works amazingly well,i have long run out of fancy soap, and use liquid washing machine stuff - the colour of the water that comes out is impressive.

Just a note, once you have done the seats I would recommend turn the AC on, the heating on hot, and giving the car a drive to dry the seats even more.

Washing up liquid is ok to use pre wash?

Too much foam generated, I'd suggest - something for washing machines, as suggested would avoid that.

Autoglym interior shampoo is pretty good, available in halfords and smells nice if you just use that, you can just use the bissell to suck up any excess water.

Most supermarkets or B&M/Home Bargains sell Astonish carpet/fabric shampoo (the last time I bought some around a year ago it was £2 a bottle) that has a nice clean smell.

Do you need to pre-treat? Only if the interior has some large dirty ingrained stains. I generally use our Spotclean Pro about 2-3 times a year. The car dries within a few hours if the sun is baking the interior. And the hose is short. I leave the machine in the neighbouring footwell when cleaning.

I pretreat with AG Upholstery cleaner to get the surface dirt off after hoovering, then spray again and work it in then use the Bissell fluid (or whatever you use) and spray that in with the brush.
