IMO it is always better to whip the tyre off and take the rim to a local refurb company. The mobile guys mostly only do touch up repairs and try to match the existing rim colour. The factory based guys will strip it back to bare alloy, bead blast, fill any dings and check for trueness. They will then powder coat with a good thickness. When you pick it up you can see that they have done a good job before the tyre goes back on.

Bit late posting, but if you still need them doing, give Lepsons a call 01634 580582 www.lepsons.com ; speak to Chris, great chap and knows his stuff.
I've just had my split rims done (2-piece) and had the centres re-done in black-chrome. They've done a SUPERB job, even by looking at them, Dave knew they'd been done once before before I owned the car, as the finish on the inside of the rimes wasn't a flat silver powder coat, it had a *slight* gloss to them!!....anyway, 3 days later and a new set of tyres on there too (they were also the cheapest for these, despite Kwik Fits 4-for-3 offer on Michelins Pilot Sports), and I'm a very happy chappy.
When you see their facilities, I can't see how a mobile guy can get anywhere near (sorry, bit provocative perhaps)....how can a mobile guy carry around the size lathe needed to cut back the damage, and all the powder coating kit?...they're prob very good at touching up the odd stone chip on them, but for £50 for a solid rim, and £95 for a 2-piece split rim, why cut corners?
No vested interest in the company, just delighted by one of the few companies that seem to still acknowledge customer satisfaction....email me if you want pics of my rims.
Theyre based in Gillingham, Kent...most of the local Official Porsche Centres in the Sarf use them (100,000 rims/yr, IIRC) and they do a collection service too (although not sure if Heathrow is an area they cover, best speak to them) plus a same day service.
Hope that helps,
Spencer

Lepsons was a very high quote for me, Wheel Refurbishing north of London was a better price. Haven't got mine done yet though.
