I'm going to jet-spray some moss off the rubber around window seals. However, I wondered if I should use a spray first and if so, can anyone recommend?

And/or related, afterwards is it worth using that Liqui Moly 7182 to make the rubber softer?

Don't use the jet-washer.

Mild solution of detergent and a soft brush.

There's no point blasting your doors full of water from a pressure washer. Or anywhere else around the car for that matter. Car manufacturers build their cars to withstand normal weather, not "weekend man" with his pressure washer. You'll just blast all the crud past the seals which are designed to keep it out.

I just use one of the Demon all purpose cleaners and work it in with a stiff detailing brush then rinse, works a treat

I'd suggest using warm water.

I've been told boiling water but the person who told me that isn't the most reliable and that seems overkill and likely to cause damage to the car or glass.

You may want to consider buying the correct stuff as I am not sure how many times weatherstrips can withstand the detergent and toothbrush approach.
