Removing scratches from mirrored stainless steel?

Mirrored S/S wheel rim trims/embellishers, look to have been driven along quite a few kerbs over the last 52 years. The dents I'll have to live with but would like to lose the scratches. Working with 240/400/800 grit paper is working but taking forever. Any recommendations for a drill attachment which might speed things up? Thought about using the DA polisher.

This one isn't going back due to the damage but you get the picture of the rest. I've 7 to choose 4 from.

A bench grinder with a scotchbrite wheel will get rid of the scratches, and a buffing wheel will get the shine back.
