Evening all,

I recently had an insurance bodywork repair carried out on my Black Sapphire BMW 7 Series, it was hit while parked on the join of the front wing and the driver's door. Nothing major, but a good 10-15 inch scrape.

It's been to the BMW approved bodyshop and on first glance, it looks a decent enough job...

However, looking down the line of the car, there's very obvious rippling in the paint - a bit like a dent, but more subtle.

Now, I know this is probably tricky to get right, but they are professionals. Is it really impossible to avoid this? I don't want it respraying again if it won't be any better...

I've managed to create a gif, it looks slightly worse than real life, but it should be quite obvious. Look at the paint a few inches above the M badge, and in the middle of the door.

Wibbly wobbly - that's pretty bad & shouldn't have been put out the door of a self respecting bodyshop.

Makes me wonder what exactly BMW approved them for.
