Blue Ember Mustang Paint
Discussion
My Mustang Dark Horse is in getting a load of upgrades, and one of the things is the matte carbon Ford Performance spoiler.
I just got a call from the shop to say they have pulled the paint when removing the old spoiler. This is an extremely well respected place, and they will fix at their own cost.
However...I'm super nervous about a paint match, as this is a complex paint, as you can see by the way the sun hits this and turns it orange. It's the rear section of the boot, which can get removed for paint, which is some positive, but other than that, this is a pretty s
tty situation.

It is a difficult colour, but there are a lot worse, you state they are a good bodyshop so I wouldn't worry, thats down to the painter to worry!
If its just lifted around where the spoiler was removed then they should be able to keep it local and blend it nice and tight, worse case if they aren't happy they will have to extend into the rear quarters.
Its an unexpected expensive for them and thats that, I'm not sure what the question was other than wanting a bit of reassurance?

Thanks. Yeah, I guess comments could go one of two ways. Don't stress or yeah, that colour will be a nightmare. Sounds like it should be ok - just annoying to have a nearly new car painted like this already. It is a difficult colour, but there are a lot worse, you state they are a good bodyshop so I wouldn't worry, thats down to the painter to worry!
