Snow Foam Recommendations - Mazda MX-5

Morning all,

I'll be taking delivery of a new MX-5 roadster in the next couple of weeks and plan to get the car ceramic coated to try and protect the paintwork.

What snow foam would you recommend for cleaning? I've read reviews of people saying a PH-neutral snow foam is best but not sure which one to buy. I'm also conscious that the car has a soft top and I don't want to cause any issues with stripping the waterproofing properties.

Genuinely, I wouldn't bother. Granted it looks good when you blast it off with the hose and despite people proclaiming it is nothing short of magical, it's simply just expensive foamy soap.

It definitely adds value, if applied to the right 'panel impact ratio' (or dilution in plain english). Its not a miracle wash which removes the need to sponge the car down, but it does loosen the surface grot before spraying off, and makes life easier and less likely to mar the paint finish. Its very good on wheels too... if you keep on top of them you'll never need to use an aggressive wheel cleaner solution.

Personally I apply it mixed in a spray bottle as its less fiddly to work out the dilution. You don't get the instragram-able "snow" effect, but it works as well if not better just sprayed on.
