Washing Companies
Discussion
I've just purchased a nice 993, only trouble is it's black and shows every mark. Unfortunately I live in a London flat so cleaning it is going to be a major problem.
I'm not taking it near one of those large automatic washers and getting it cleaned by one of the specialist companies looks like the only answer. Can anyone recommend somewhere good but not prohibitively expensive, preferably near W9?
Are there any other options for washing-your-own in such a circumstance? The lack of a hose would seem to be a slight impediment.

Dont worry all is not lost!
There are a few very good specialists in London, If you do want to wash it yourself and don't have access to a hose, look into Quick and Easy wash.
It was introduced to wash caravan's/boats etc where contamination and loads of suds is frowned upon.
Try a quick search or even post on Autopia.org for more information on how to wash without a hose, there are hose pipe bans in some areas within California and many detailers use this method to cater for their customer's cars.

Jack,
Try a product called Miracle Dry Wash. www.miracledrywash.co.uk This needs no water, will not scratch and leaves a polymer resin behind which leaves the car shiney.
We have used it to great effect and have never had a warranty claim from it. If the directions are followed then it will not scratch the paint.
Its also great for use as a detailing spray at shows etc.

My god, I wouldn't use that on a car in a breakers yard!!!!
Easy one this. First, do the best thing, and take the beast for a drive. Sooner or later, you will come across a bunch of dodgy looking Kossovans in on eof the hand car washes. I have found them to be most accomodating for nice Pork, in terms of rinsing out the wash mitts, and the buckets before they come anywhere near you. Extra couple of quid for them doing a good job, and its a better one next time. They make look like extras from Shameless, but they dont seem afraid of doing a bit of hard work.
