Anyone used Bilt Hamber products?
Discussion
Chaps,
Has anyone ever used Bilt Hamber products on their P&J? Link here:
www.bilthamber.com/
They have a number of things of interest - clays, polishes, rust treatments and rust prevention products. I notice that they seem to get a good write-up in Practical Classics, and am seriously considering buying some stuff from them for my 944. (They have an offer on at the moment as well, which is appealing.)
Any tales from first-hand experience would be appreciated.
Oli.

Yep.
In a word, brilliant.
Use their clay, follow up with the Balm (polish) and then stick some carnuba wax over the top. I like Mothers as it leave no marks and creates a pretty hard finish. I've also used Harley Wax over the top but prefer the Mothers. Meguiars Paste wax would also be a good choice.
But definitely try the bilt hamber, the balm will amaze you.

LagerLout,
Thanks for that - I thought that no-one was ever going to reply!
I did buy the stuff. And tried it. And liked it. But I have never used clay or good quality polish before, so have nothing to compare it with. I also just applied the Auto Balm, and didn't put anything on top of it. What does the extra layer of Mothers/Harleys give that you don't get without it? Also, surely adding more wax on top would rub off the existing coat of Auto Balm?
Also, here's another question. How often should a car be clayed and/or polished? I expect this to last longer that previous finishing products I have used (AutoGlym Super Resin Polish) but how long? And do I clay every time I apply the Auto Balm, or less frequently?
Thanks ...

The frequency to which you would clay, really depends on the environment to which your car is exposed.Having said that,i think as a genaral rule, you won't go wrong by claying every sixth month.
With the auto balm, because it is non abrasive, you can actually use it as often as you like.A good, simple routine would be,wash, clay, wash again if you have left clay residue, then polish, for example with super resin, then onto your auto balm, and then top that with a carnauba wax,if you have one.Just do the clay, polish, say every sixth month, and use your auto balm and wax as often as you want in between that time.

Thanks, I already did, and got the auto-balm as well, and love them both. Didn't try applying the wax on top though ... maybe I'll try buying some of that as well.
