Roof re-proofing.
Discussion
Quick question; how often should I re-proof the mohair lid on my TVR?
It's one year old, and I wash the roof with Mothers Roof cleaner, so not aggressive cleaning. But I haven't re-proofed it in any way and don't especially want to wait for it to leak before I do so.
Also, any particular recommendations? Is Renovo good stuff?
Cheers

Hi mate, I find the most affective way is to clean with an anti bac cleaner i use autoglyms roof kit. Comes with an anti bac cleaner a sponge to aggravate and a sealant. Starting with wetting the roof then applying the antibac and then vacuuming off with a wet vac. Once dry i then apply the sealant. check out this link to one i did yesterday.

When my Porsche was being resprayed at the OPC spray place I asked the guy what to do to protect the hood on the wife's Z3. He said that after cleaning it I could buy a bottle of the Porsche stuff they use on Boxsters for £40..... or I could go to the Army & Navy stores and buy the same stuff for £6.99. I did the latter. I washed the hood with soapy water and a nail brush, rinsed it thoroughly, let it dry and then treated it with NIKWAX UV proof stuff from the A&N shop. Works a treat. While we're on hoods, ours has a plastic back window and I used this stuff - www.morethanpolish.com/mtp/hindsight.asp - fantastic.
Good luck with it.

303 is supposed to be a pretty good roof cleanser and restorer. Can be found via this link.
