My son has managed to put quite a nasty scrape on the colour coded front bumper of his car.Are there any differences in the way I should go about repairing/respraying this as opposed to metal bodywork?

Not meaning to be rude, but if you're concerned about the appearance of the repair, and your knowledge level is such that you need to ask a question like this, don't do the repair yourself. A localised professional repair may even cost you less than sourcing the bits you need to attempt it yourself in Halfrauds...
