I have damaged my cars clear coat with some over vigorous scrubbing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what product/techniques I should use to restore the cars finish. I did try a little turtle wax that improved the finish but failed to remove the marks.

I am a little wary of using anything abrasive on the paint work as the car is fairly old and I don't want to remove all of it clear coat.

It's hard to tell what the damage is simply from the pics. Do you mean you used a brush and have scratches in the clear? If so the only way to take them out is to use something abrasive. I'd start off with something mild like Autoglym SRP as it's mildly abrasive and also has a lot of fillers to help fill the scratches and mask the problem.

Machining is really the best way to restore the paintwork to its former glory.
Even with a machine it can be a long and hard job!

I use menzarna compound and mequires pads to great results.

Heres a boxster i done a few weeks ago, this one was so bad i had to wet flat then machine it 11 hrs machining then 4hrs to apply Zymol wax.
