I bought some of this stuff & apart from being pink, looking like blamange & smelling like bubblegum, it seems ok. My wheels are now shiny

However, it states on the tub that for 'extra long lasting protection', one should add 3 coats. Is this good advice or just marketing (would the second coat effectively remove the first?)

Also, does it matter for how long the sealant is left before buffing off? The wheels are off the car (in my kitchen) & the finish is powder coat.

It is certainly worth putting on a couple of coats, the more wax on the wheels upto a point the less chance of dust, moisture, dirt etc will stick. A few minutes is more than enough betweeen each coat and the every couple of weeks renew! Just wash as normal with decent quality car wash shampoo.

Steve the owner from Poorboys recommends applying the first coat, remove residue, immediately apply a second coat for even coverage and remove residue. Then wait 24 hours and apply a third coat for more durability.

If you fail to wait for the sealant to cure (24 hours) your not going to get any benefit from the additional third layer.

As above, it's not just marketing hype. It really will make a difference, particularly to the longevity of protection and look...

Right-o, thanks for the info. Put on 1 coat last night & buffed off, then added another but buffed off this morning. Will add another before they go on.
