I have recently had a heater matrix go on me and my carpets have gone soggy. I am in the process of taking the carpets out to get cleaned. Now do any of you guys use a mobile cleaning comp for this or would you DIY with a bottle of carpet cleaner and a power washer and leave in the sun?
Thanks in advance

How large is the damp patch and how much mess is there? I would take the carpet out, clean it with a decent carpet cleaner, allow it to dry, then hoover and reinstall. when cleaning do not soak, use a sponge, a little cleaning solution and some towels.

Fabric cleaner/conditioner works fine, a wet vac would be ideal, give it a scrub, nail brush or similar and air dry.
