Halfords Alternative - London SW/W/NW
Discussion
Hi,
I've had a bit of a search and have only come up with on-line alternatives....
I'd like to get hold of some new car-cleaning bits and would prefer to have a browse around a physical shop rather than order on line. Can anyone recommend a place in London, preferably South West, West or NW?
Failing that, any recomendations on good websites? I've looked at a few and am a little bamboozled by them!
I'm looking to buy:
- Some Meguiars X (to remove some recently acquires scratches)
- a bucket and 2x grit guards
- a wash mit
- a clay bar kit
- a decent towel to dry the car
- possibly some more wax
I've got lots of bits already but it seems I'm a bit out of date! As I think this might be a few quids worth, I'd prefer not to just give it all to a big corporation and would like to use a smaller and well thought of indy.
Thanks in advance
Woody

Whilst I don't have an answer to the main question in your post about location, I found searching this forum and detailingworld about the best products available made me make my own decision about what would be right for me to use. Specifically, I got my clay bar from Bilt Hamber, my washmits from sheepskinshop, and most of my other products from cleanyourcar. I have no complaints about the products I ordered from these companies and the service they provide, although you should read around and see what will be best for you and your car as there are many alternatives available. A lot of what people recommend is personal preference so find out what will be right for you.
Cheers Andy.
Yeah, there's a lot of choice out there...I've got a few things I want to get (having searched/read stuff on here and other sites) but would like to have a browse in a shop too.
From the searches, it seems Halford's isnt too badly thought of. I'll take a look at the names you mentioned, thanks.
