Complete exterior clean

Hi, i'm basically looking for a complete guide for cleaning/polishing and generally brightening up the paintwork of my car.

It's a 1992 honda civic vti. I look after the paintwork as best i can but really do not have any knowledge of typical methods for washing/polishing and would like to learn a bit about these. Also what products to use and any tips or tricks.
