Hi all, thinking of having a go at this detailing lark over the Christmas break on a couple of my cars.
I have some P21S (now R222?) wax left over from a few years ago.
Was thinking of getting a clay bar of some kind (Meguiar's from Halfrauds?), then using some Dodo juice lime prime cleanser and then using the P21s.
Does this sound ok?

As above, Bilt Hamber if you want to save on clay lube by using just water.
That said, if you're going the Lime Prime route, you might also go for Dodo's clay bar, and lube, which I think is due sometime very soon.
R222 is not the longest lasting of waxes - in fact, if the original version, rather than the newer 100% carnauba variant, you'll be lucky to get about a week or so out of it.
You might be better to leave it as a summer wax, and spend the wee bit extra on one of Dodo's Hard waxes - any one at all. Don't worry about matching a particular one for your car's paint, as the colour charging is highly subjective.
In fact, as it's just for winter usage, spend £15/£30 on a panel pot (or two) of Supernatural V2 - you'll get about 2-3 layers out of it, and it should last a good 2-3 months depending on where the car's parked, etc.
So long as you don't use too strong a shampoo solution, you should be fine 'til March with a drop of QD or Dodo's own new sealant aimed at Zaino's Z-8.
That should sort you out until the fairer weather returns.
