replacing a roof panel.
Discussion
A few weeks back i noticed 3 dents in the roof of my car. (Leon Cupra R).
Today I took it to my local bodyshop to see if they could help.
He put on of those sucker things on it, but it didnt do anything.
On closer inspection he noticed that the bonnet also has a dent in, which i hadn't noticed.
It appears that some low life POS, thought that the pavment wasn't good enough to walk on, so used my car instead.
The body shop guys say that the roof is not just dented, the whole pannel is bent, and needs replacing.
anybody have an idea of how much that might cost me? i really dont want to claim on insurance, but i might have to.

My GTV has dents in the roof, it was like this when I got it - I noticed perhaps one very small dent. Obviously after polishing etc it turns out a fair bit worse than I realised (however most people don't notice).
I don't really have any answers, but replacing my roof panel would involve doing some welding. I've had the roof lining out and didn't have much positive effect with a rubber mallet. I have a feeling the roof panel on a Leon is separate from the pillars?
I do quite a lot of this sort of work myself... Gladwins (local bodyshop that all the insurers use) say they would fill it and be able to get it to 99% perfect, so I'm tempted to do this myself. For info, they quote £400 to fill and re-paint the roof.
ETA: You could get another bonnet off ebay and have it painted fairly cheaply. My Bonnet is GRP so unaffected by the scrote who has obviously been over the car. My boot lid however is not quite perfect, but I plan to get another off ebay for ~£10.
