Help needed from a complete novice

I plan on cutting a small rectangle hole into the rear quater panel to aid cooling on my mid engined polo. Can anyone give me anty pointers.

Also I have got bits of mesh for the hole and I have been told to use stichaflex to hold them in place, is this the best way .

Thanks

Its probably easier to do something with one of the rear windows.

use a 1mm thick cutting disc on an angle grinder and it will cut a straight line with no distortion and very little heat,so little paint damage too.just don`t try to cut curves or they last seconds and can shatter.sikaflex is as good as anything to hold mesh in as long as you secure it until it sets.

Clear NACA duct in a polycarbonate window would look very cool (no pun) in a Group B kinda way.

+1

Really thin disc in a grinder, and no need to drill corner holes, plus minimal finishing required.
