Removing swirl marks
Discussion
It seems the dealer I took my Prelude to for it's service decided to "clean" the car for me. I picked it up this evening but didn't notice any marks until I got home and the floodlight on our drive allowed me to see the paintwork.
It looks like it's been washed with one of those brushes on a pole which has swirled the lacquer. I did a test on the rear quarter panel with some Autoglym Super Resin Polish, which seemed to remove the worst of it. Is this the best stuff to use or is there a better product out there?
Looks like I'm going to be busy this weekend.....

Ok, I've had a chance to see it in the sunlight and I think it's fair to say they've made a right mess:

And here's a pic of where I've used a spot of AG Super Resin which does seemed to have worked a bit (only applied to the top part):

It's not exactly an expensive car and nor was the paintwork perfect but it now looks like someone's attacked it with a wire brush
What's the best plan of action now? Contact the dealership and allow them to rectify or get a quote from an expert first? Car's parked outside my office in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol if anyone want's to pop round to see it.

That's a proper mess, where did you take it, I'll steer clear of them with the wifes Honda.
Take a look at my website - www.thedetaildoctor.co.uk, sorted a similar problem out on an Impreza last year that had been through a car wash all of it's life.
I have e-mailed you through PH with a suggested plan of attack on this, Honda paint is notoriously soft but that's taking the piss, it looks like they used a brush on the paint & a stiff one at that).

Things aren't going well with the dealership
I've spoken to the workshop manager who is adamant their washing brushes could not have caused the damage and the swirls must have been there under the dirt before I dropped it of! They claim they've used their professional car brushes on 100s of cars without problem etc etc
I know for a fact the marks were not there before I dropped it off, as I wash the car every weekend and only polished it last month.
I'm going round there this afternoon at about 4:30 to show them the car. He's also going to bring along their bodyshop manager, although what he's going to say I don't know!
Any advice folks?

Well, hopefully by the close of play tomorrow the Prelude will be gleaming.
I'm off to carry out a full paint correction at the dealers expense.
Can't wait I'm off to carry out a full paint correction at the dealers expense.
