Hello

Please could someone tell me what "hand car washers" or Detailers use, when you see them go around the car, at the start and spray a clear cleaning product onto the car, then jet wash it off, before washing the car..... I am guessing it helps to loose the dirt on the cars body. Any links or info be great!

thank you
phil.

Will be tfr ( traffic film remover ) or APC ( All Purpose Cleaner ) which does indeed remove surface grime and debris sir.

Loads of sites offer the stuff. Depends upon whether you are trade or private.

Autobrite supply the trade.

Numerous companies supply the enthuasist. Good all around spray for removing grime without resorting to snowfoam is something like Carlack 68 special cleaner or Meguiars super degreaser....but would not use this on my paintwork...great on engines, wheel arches, suspension parts etc.

As 360 says, likely to be a TFR (caustic in most cases), or an APC, using the Meguiar's product name as a generic term - bit like hoover, to mean vacuum.
One that can be used on paint, at 4-5% to maintain LSP (wax/sealant layers) is Bilt Hamber's Surfex HD.
Also useable at the same strength for wheels, or stronger if needed, and 10-15% for engine bay duties.
Non caustic, and an all round superb product often overlooked for the Meg's APC or AS G101 - both caustic.
