Best method to clean and preserve alloy wheels??
Discussion
I shall be picking up a new car soon and want to start as I mean to carry on regarding the up keep of the alloy wheels.
Currently I use Autoglym wheel cleaner to remove stubborn dirt, then apply a layer of Turtle wheel wax.
However, I am sure there must me a less aggressive cleaner than Autoglym on the market? Also, a longer lasting wheel wax?
I cover approx. 3,000 miles a month, so the wheels do get a hammering.
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciate!

Initially take the wheels off of you car if possible, wash / clean thoroughly with a PH neutral cleaner. Use a mitt to clean/wash, then dry.
Rest on two strips of wood, to protect the rims and seal the wheels with something like Chemical Guys Jetseal #109 or Klasse AIO (Carlack).
Then coat both sides of the wheels with wheel wax, ie Swissvax, Poorboys Wheel Wax etc.
Repeat every six to eight weeks and inbetween just wash with a decent cleaner. Bilberry and Bilt Hamber Suffex HD, both diluted are excellent at removing brake dust, tar etc.
Don't forget to clean your tyres too , then dress and do the same with the wheel arches.
