BEST PRODUCT TO CLEAN AND WAX PORSCHE 911 TURBO
Discussion
Hi im after some advice on which products to use on my porsche 996 turbo. I purchased it 2 weeks ago and want to keep it in the best condition as possible. I dont have a garage and heard that car covers can some times damage you car with scratches. I would like to no how often you need to wash your car and what products to use in a reasonble budget. I only drive it at weekends but it does sit outside in the elements all the time.
Thanks
Thanks
I'd go for the following (prices taken from Polished Bliss):
1 Lambswool wash mitt (bodywork)
1 Microfibre mitt (wheels)
1 Drying towel
1 Bottle of good shampoo (Poorboys super slick and suds)
1 Wheel back brush
1 Blackfire Gel wheel & tyre cleaner
1 R222 total auto wash (citrus degreaser)
£69.92 as a kit
2 Clear buckets £9.90
1 Poorboys Nattys wax £11.98
1 Blackfire LSP applicator £3.15
3 Poorboys Deep Pile Luxury Buffing Towels £12.95
Total £107.90 plus postage. So just a little over but everything (albeit a minimum for doing it properly) to get you going to protect your car.
Then add to it as you go, little by little, each month such as:
1 Drying towel - Poorboys waffle weave - £9.52
1 Clay bar - Megs Quick Clay (a great starter clay) £12.65
1 Tyre dressing - Poorboys Bold and Bright £10.32
1 Meguiars Foam applicator pads £3.38
1 Poorboys wheel sealant £12.17
1 Polish - Menzerna 203s £16.91
2 German applicator pads £3.34
3 Poorboys Deep Pile Luxury Buffing Towels £12.95
1 Foam gun for use on the pressure washer £47.09
1 Megs Hyper Wash for use in foam gun £22.53
Various brushes etc - Budget £15 - £20
Then you've got all the interior stuff to get lol.
Personally I'd upgrade the wax. If you wanted to go for a top wax straight off then go for Dodo Supernatural at £65 for the plastic pot type.
Detailing is an expensive hobby to get into but then a car like a 911 deserves to be pampered. Spend more now and it'll serve you better in the long run.
If you want some guides on how to use all the products and the proper detailing methods just shout.
