Now, I have recently decided rather than purchase tat for the car i'd buy some stuff to clean it properly.

So far this is what i have purchased

Maguiars Gold Class car shampoo and conditioner
Maguiars wash mitt
Maguiars Clay Kit
Maguiars next generation glass cleaner
Maguiars Deep crystal paint cleaner (step 1 of 3)
Maguiars Deep crystal polish (step 2 of 3)
Maguiars Deep crystal Carnauba wax (step 3 of 3)
Maguiars Soft foam applicator pads
Halfords Heavy duty Microfibre colths
Halfords Valeting cloths.

To be purchased
Chamois leather
Buffer
possibly t-cut.
Possibly pressure washer with foam lance

Now i have a few questions.

1. can the gold class car shampoo and conditioner be used in a foam lance?
2. has anybody used the 12v and 240v halfords buffer and are they any good?
3. whats the best method of removing scratches, is there a better alternative to T-Cut?
4. Have I missed anything out that is needed to get a good clean/finish (bearing in mind this is exterior only)

At the moment the process is this.

1.Clean car with gold class car shampoo and conditioner first using wash mitt.
2.dry off using microfiber cloth (do i need a chamois for this or is a microfiber cloth ok?)
3.clay bar the whole car.
4.use the paint cleaner over whole car.
5.use polish over whole car
6.wax whole car
7.stand back and admire

Am i doing to many things? Should i do anything else? How many times can a clay bar be used? Should i wash the car again for a second time between steps 3 and 4? I plan to wash the car every weekend, but how often should i use the maguiars 3 step stuff?

Thanks

Thom

Here's a good "washing" start guide for you Thom. Plenty of other guides and info if you familiarise yourself with the site. wink
