The door bump strips on my 2003 Skoda Octavia are coming off.

I removed them, cleaned down with white spirits to remove any old residue and reapplied using Halfords double sided tape - made by Duck and supposed to be for this kind of job.

Needless to say that stuff is cr@p and they are coming off again - even after liberal attention from my Mrs' hairdryer to soften the glue!

Can anyone advise me of a better alternative, and where to buy it from?

My mate has advised 3M stuff, but the VHB tape they make only comes in 33m rolls as far as I can see, which as well as being expensive, is also surplus to requirements - I only need around 2m or so.

Thanks in advance,
Steven

Have you tried the main stealers? They may sell the oe sticky strips seperately from the moulding. Give a local body shop a shout as well. They may sell you some for drink.

Other than that if there are no holes left behind, take the other side off, clean it up and go for a smoother look.

Tried the smoother look but unfortunately the paint underneath has a few blisters in it - seems to be a common issue as some of the Fabia guys have reported the same when removing theirs!

I'll try the bodyshop route and dealers as well - was just hoping someone might have been thru this before!

Cheers,
Steven
