Vinyl wrapping questions
Discussion
Please don't move this to the bowels of the forum (or biker banter!) mods, I know it's not strictly car related but I'm in need of some assistance and replies.
Righty,
A few nights ago my bike got knocked over and there's been some light damage to the fairings etc, no scrapes as such, just a couple of cracks. I've been mulling over what to do with it, and I've decided as it's my track bike I'm not arsed about the damage, plus I want to use it as a bit of an advertising tool for a new venture, and have decided on a livery.
Rather than get it painted I want it wrapping in vinyl, but I'd like to keep the few small cracks and imperfections as they are now, and show them off a bit. Sounds daft I know...
So, I'm looking for someone who does this vinyl wrapping malarkey. It's nothing too elaborate so I'm hoping it won't cost the earth, as chances are it'll need changing / freshening up at least a couple of times a year as I'll end up throwing it down the road, or changing the various stickers on top of the vinyl etc.
The damage is basically as below, which as you can see I've 'stitched' together with cable ties. I'm not one for treating my bikes with the greatest of respect when it comes to cosmetics but it's bloody immaculate otherwise, so the battlescars I'm hoping will add to the charm of the new livery. Wierd logic eh!

I'm guessing it wouldn't be a problem to wrap in vinyl despite this damage? I'm happy to spray the area it's cracked in black before it gets wrapped so the red doesn't show, though I'm not too bothered if it does as long as the vinyl doesn't peel off or whatever as a result. Might even look like it's bleeding, even better
Any guesses what the cost of a basic vinyl wrap over a bike would come to? I'm talking nosecone, fairings, tail unit and undertray (underside of the tail unit). I've asked before but it was that long ago I've forgotten.
Also, if there's any folks on here who do it, it'd be great if you could drop me a mail via my profile to chat about it.
I'm loathed to call people up to discuss it until I get the artwork and logos back for the new venture, plus I'm confident I'll just get a 'bring it in and we'll see' type response.
Cheers,
Stu

I know a guy through the SIDC that does this. i'll point him in the direction of the thread. :thumb:
IMO it would be easy to leave the battlescar. take the cable ties out, vinyl over it and then press / cut the vinyl into the cracks. pierce the vinyl through the holes you've already made and put fresh cable ties in
