Have used Autoglym trye dressing with mixed results, now run out so may try another brand. Any suggestions?

Best method of application?

Thanks

The best applicatio is with a tyre dressing applicator...ie a large sponge arch shaped and with a handle.

The question is do you want a wet look tyre or an original matt look?

You need to clean the rubber with an all purpose cleaner and an old scrubbing / dish brush to remove the road grime etc.

Then apply one of the following.

1. Blackfire Tyre Gel
2. Einszett Pro Vinyl & Rubber gel
3. Chemical Guys Black forever Tyre Dressing
4. Zymol Natural Tyre Spray
5. Swissvax Pneu Tyre and rubber dressing.

Hope these give you some ideas of what to use.

Thanks for that, Matt finish is my preference, which of the above is best for that?

Have been thinking of getting some Megs APC as well, so will add that to the list!

Cheers

All of them can be either Matt or gloss, depends upon how much you apply. The Chemical Guys is the glossiest, the others are all very natural unless you apply multiple coats.

Allow to dry for an hour or two before driving to avoid any 'sling'.

I use black Cherry Blossom boot polish after watching a guy at a concours event doing the tyres on his old Rolls and then brushing them up.

The finish is lovely and black, somewhere between matt and gloss. It works well on other black items too, repels water, and lasts through several washes.
