Chrome Plated Polyester?

I wasn't sure which section to put this in and I realise it is a strange question, but...

Can you chrome plate polyester?

I read in a magazine that it is possible to chrome plate plastic as long as you can give the platers enough information about the type of plastic used. However, searching the web I can find plenty of stuff about plating ABS plastic, but nothing about any other kind.
