Bit of advice for a novice
Discussion
Car is a darkish blue metallic Elise S2
My normal cleaning process involves Megs Gold Class Shampoo and then Gold class polish.
Have clay barred the car once
Plan to get the car in pristine shape for the summer now.
Plan to:
Wash
Clay bar
Wash
Polish
Looking around I have seen that Megs do a 3 step system of Cleaner, Polish, Wax but I am unsure what benefit this would give and what all the steps are doing.
So if I went:
Wash
Clay bar
Wash
Cleaner
Polish
Wax
Would this produce a superior finish?
Sorry for the noddy question but I like to understand what and why I am doing something before embarking on it!!!

Do you have a decent lambswool mash mitt and two buckets with grit guards?
Nothing wrong with what you are doing but I would wash, clay, wash then polish with a decent (not Meguiars) polish and then seal my paintwork with something like Chemical Guys Jetseal #109.
Depending upon the colour of your car I would then apply a couple of coats of wax, giving ime for each layer to settle and then you should have a wonderful deep wet looking finish to your pride and joy.
What you need are some decent applicators for waxes and a number of microfibres. Also a QD spray (Quick Detailer) is worth having to hand when polishing and after waxing.
