Mrs Nobby has bought an A4 convertible.
Can anyone suggest a good care regime for the hood?
It's black fabric.
I was wondering if there is a system that can be applied to help in the resistance to marking and staining and then a cleaning method, if it does become marked.
Many thanks.

There are a variety of chemicals to clean and protect your roof, but the best investment you can make is to buy a good quality stiff brush...not brutally hard but stiff.

The best products include #303 Convertible hood cleaner and their dressing (Fabric Guard).

Also very highly rated are the Renovo range of cleaners and protectors available from Vertar (on the web).

Swissvax also make a wonderful hood cleaner and 3m Scotchguard protector.

Raggtopp also make a wonderful range of products and protectors. All available over the web.

I was looking at the hood on my elise a couple of weeks ago and thinking it was getting ready for some corrective action.

Before sorting the car had a bit of paintwork that needed sorting so went off to the sprayer's.

He kindly cleaned up the roof for me and it now looks like new - what did he use?? - Simply (unbelievable if you hadn't seen it) he rubbed the roof down with a woolen glove!

Another vote for the 303 its meant to last 3 years. Easy to put on and repels water very well.

A vote for Renovo ( and you can't go wrong with Vertar) - spoke to a Saab dealer today on the same subject and he raved about it, used the products for years.
