I decided to give the car a good clean today, having covered nearly 1200 miles last week it was pretty filthy.
Now im not an expert at all, but this is what I have done so far. Washed the car and then dried it, however ended up with lots or streaks etc.
I have a fair few stone chips on the bonnet and the wings so I decided to use Simoniz Black polish – this was a bit of a pain to get off and to be honest did not really give me the results I was hoping for, so need to find an alternative for the stone chips.
I then gave the car a polish using Autoglym Super resin polish and finally I gave it a wax using Meguiars step 3 Carnauba Car Wax. This was all pretty hard work as its hot our there today and I was doing everything by hand.
I have taken a few pictures to show you the results so far, im really chuffed with some of the reflective shots, especially the bonnet, however when looking at the car from a slightly different angle the stone chips are obvious and let it down.
I still need to finish the car off need to give windows a clean etc came in for a break as it was getting pretty hot outside so will go back in a few hours when it cools down.
How many layers of wax should you apply and how often should you wax the car?
